After I arrived at your home I would determine if the inventory estimate I gave is correct. If need be, I would revise the price of the inventory.
When we were in agreement, we would both sign the written Agreement between You and Digital Inventory Solutions.
I would begin the inventory by videoing the entrance and exterior of your home, including the landscaping, accompanied by the audio of your name, address, and date.
Next I would go inside and video each room from at least two different perspectives. I would include the ceilings and the flooring. I would video the inside of cabinets, drawers and closets.
I would video anything in each room that you wish: detailed closeups of photographs, art collections, jewelry, coins, silver, crystal, other collections of all kinds, sports equipment, exercise equipment, tools, etc. and also the serial numbers of your electronic equipment.
Whatever you have of value that you wish to document in detail. It is dependent upon your needs.
You might provide commentary on the video if you desire! If you own expensive antiques or heirlooms, this was probably a good idea.
Once the video was complete, I would burn it directly to a DVD right in your home or business, without the use of a computer! This DVD will play in a computer or in a DVD player hooked to your TV. You would keep both the miniDV tape and the DVD!
If you desired, I would also photograph any of the above items. It was all up to you!
I would use a camera that burns the photos directly onto an 8cm CD that plays in a computer.
My equipment makes it possible to complete the inventory without putting your home or business property information into my computer!
I would then document in writing whatever you desired. This documentation could include antique furniture and electronic equipment of all kinds.
Then, with the inventory in hand, you would have a better idea of how much insurance coverage you need.
